About
Dagny Jackman-Laos
Hi! My name is Dagny Jackman-Laos and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who is working under supervision and am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO).
As an undergrad student, I studied English Literature (BAH) at Queen's University; this allowed me to gain skills of analysis, writing, and reasoning. It helped me to begin to understand the experiences of others by inhabiting their perspective through literature. I then went on to study massage therapy at Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy and graduated in 2011. Directly after that, I studied neurofunctional and anatomically-based acupuncture at McMaster University to have more treatment tools when working with clients.

Now, as a therapist, I am able to address a wide variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks, stress, relationship difficulties, and mood disorders. I use the following approaches: SFBT, DBT, CBT, polyvagal, and somatic work. I have a special passion for working with those with OCD.

Therapy is a journey; I will walk beside you. Each person is unique with strengths and areas of desired improvement. Together, we create an individualized plan. Building a strong, empathetic therapeutic bond with each client is my highest priority. Be yourself; you bring the expertise on your experience and I will bring tools and techniques to share.

I am committed to anti-oppressive, culturally relevant, and trauma-informed work. 2SLGBTQIA+ and polyamourous/ENM clients will be supported fully and positively. I also have experience with high demand religions, religious observance, and religious trauma.
